{˂upaG_short!} upaG autotransporter short version

This part has been shown to translocate to the cell surface and adopt a multimeric conformation. UpaG is a trimeric AT adhesin that mediates aggregation, biofilm formation, and adhesion to various ECM proteins.

In the paper, upaG was shown to:
- be located at the cell surface
- contain a C-terminal L1-β region that is a functional transporter domain
- increase both aggregation and biofilm formation when expressed in CFT073, UPEC-6, and UPEC-15
- play a role in bacterial adherence to epithelial cells
- bind to laminin and fibronectin
